1、A young man who lived in London was in love with a beautiful girl. Soon she became his fiancée (未婚妻). The man was very poor while the girl was rich. The young man wanted to make her a present on her birthday. He wanted to buy something beautiful for her, but he had no idea how to do it, as he had very little money. The next morning he went to a shop. There were many fine things there: gold watches, diamond… but all these things were too expensive. There was one thing he could not take his eyes off. It was a beautiful vase. That was a suitable present for his fiancée. He had been looking at the vase for half an hour when the manager of the shop noticed him. The young man looked so pale, sad and unhappy that the manager asked what had happened to him.
The young man told him everything. The manager felt sorry for him and decided to help him. A bright idea struck him. The manager pointed to the corner of the shop. To his great surprise the young man saw a vase broken into many pieces. The manager said: "When the servant enters the room, he will drop it."
On the birthday of his fiancée the young man was very excited.
Everything happened as had been planned. The servant brought in the vase, and as he entered the room, he dropped it. There was horror on everybody's face. When the box was opened, the guests saw that each piece was packed separately.

今天是8月13日，距离9.8日的第一场还有26天，为了让你的复习有些方向做以下说明。
这个时候想问大家的问题是:我们拿什么迎接考试,用了多少时间做了多少准备,如果你还什么都没看，可以看看8.12日群共享的资料了。
能顺利通过考试无非二种方式:1.温习，2.xx。大家的基础大部分不是很好，很多同学都在想着用第二种方式。那我就先说说xx。
都知道xx最方便，带上U盘或是光盘，把小x拷在电脑上，半小时就交卷，或是把小x内容用小6号字打印出来，带进去。只是大家要根据自己的实际情况，我们不以点盖面的说，不是所有的地方都松，也不是所有的地方都紧。有些地方很严，比如说北京，上海，江苏的一些市中心，有些地方比较松，如郊区，安徽，河南等一些地方，所以如果保定主意要x，务必要问下环境。如果你百分百确定你能x到，我事先恭喜你通过了。
如果不能x，在这剩余的26天，还是要做一些准备。还是按卷子题型的部分来说。

更新内容和复习说明如下:
1.交机英语，本次更新后将范围缩减，一般基础只需要看红色和蓝色的108个题目即可，多看看中文的翻译和答案，了解一些常规的用语，比如问是否介意，一般说NO，除非是吸烟，比如看到Congratulations 回答句是thank you，等客套话还是不难掌握的，这部分很容易复习，15分不难拿。
2.阅读，阅读分阅读1和阅读2，阅读1是第一篇，为正误判断题，更新后给出33篇几率较大的题目，如果你可以当小说一样把大概的意思看看，相信对你会有帮助。如果不想看可以看我们考前提供的。阅读2中的18篇会考其中一篇，都做了中文阅读，可以通过记一些关键词来掌握，比如French(法国)看到这个单词就能想到是说法国大革命，看到Maria就知道是说一个女孩在机场发生的事情。然后看题目的中文意思，把错误的回答删除，只保留正常的答案来记忆。15分也不难拿的。
3.词汇，这部分题目大家需要靠熟悉来记忆，只能多看才能掌握。
4.完形，这部分有些同学问是不是我给错了，怎么选项都是一样的，解释:短文中共包含5个
未完成的句子，针对每个句子中空缺部分，请从A.B.C.D.E五个选项中选出正确选项。 跟以前的变化:1、由10道题变成5道小题。 2、5道小题共有5个选项，每个选项分别填入一个空中。换言之，就是选词填空，整体难度降低。
5.翻译，本次更新增加了一些，现在比较完整，建议能稍作准备。看到一个句子的时候，先找出不认识的单词，然后再尝试自己翻译下，再把正确的读上一遍，多看就能掌握。
6.写作，更新后将范围基本框定在18篇中，但万事也有意外，只能说如果你一般基础就看这18篇几率较高的就好了。
建议复习顺序:
首先复习英译汉，英译汉是最容易被记忆。建议打印出来，有时间就看看。 其次看交际用语，都非常简单，通过练习来加强语感。
第三看阅读二，因为一定考，所以不能不掌握。
第四看词汇与结构，标注红色的45题单独看看。
第五看看18篇作文。
阅读理解一和完形填空希望有基础的就看看。
如何复习写作
一(写作常见误区
1) 审题有误，作文跑题。
建议大家将作文范文出现的题目通读一遍，至少要知道自己要写的题目是什么意思 2) 字数过多, 内容混乱。
“言多必失”建议大家作文控制在100字左右，有利于给老师留下一个完整简洁的印象，提高得分。
二(写作技巧:
1、要熟悉常考的作文题目和范文。
2、遇到不完全一样的题目，或者题目要求与所复习的内容不完全一致，不要慌张，尽量找类似的题目模仿;
3、写信和通知时要遵循固定的格式。
4、第一段一定要点题;
5、如果作文没有具体要求，也最好分为三段。
抓紧时间做有针对性的复习。功夫不负有心人,一分耕耘一分收获。

My hometown is a beautiful city. On either side of the roads, there are some big trees and nice flowers. The roads are also very clean, which makes people happy and comfortable. The weather here is very nice. I like autumn best, for it’s neither hot nor cold but very cool. I love Haimen. Welcome to my hometown.

The News Report has always been my favorite TV program. The News Report contains a large amount of information ranging from the international political situation to the latest football game. And the most important character is its fast pace. Because of this fast pace, news programs can contain much information in a short time. In my opinion, the News Report is more than a TV program. What is money? someone says it is nothing while others say it is the most important thing in their life and without it they can’t live any longer. It said: money is not everything ,but without it you can’t do any thing. In my opinion, it is right . but we should also hold a right attitude to it. You must heard that story that a rich man want to find happyness, at last he found it in a poor man’s life. Sometimes we think that the rich persons are the happiest ones in the world. However, it is not. The more money they have ,the more morose they feel. In fact, without money, we can have an interesting and exciting life also. So having lots money or less money is not the important thing , the important thing is weather we are happy or not, is it that make our life full of wonderful thing.

Nowadays, computers are becoming more and more popular. Computers can help different people in different ways. They can help children with lessons and homework, help students and scholars do calculations, analyze data and present the latest achievements. Furthermore, they can assist engineers and experts in the design of a mold, a bridge or a spaceship. Besides, computers can offer fun and entertainment to us with the internet games, movies, and etc. Indeed, computers have become a good companion of man.
43 Health and Wealth (健康和财富)
Which is more important, wealth or health? Different people have different opinions.
Some people prefer wealth, holding that money can not bring everything, but without it, one can do nothing. In order to get more money they can do anything. However, other people regard health as more important. Once health is lost, it is no use having a lot of money.
As far as I am concerned, I love wealth, but I value health more. Everybody wants to live a happy life. So they try their best to earn money which they can ensure they lead a comfortable life, but if happiness and comfort are achieved at the cost of their health, how can they be happy Without health money becomes meaningless.
In my opinion, no one agrees that a wealthy person without good health can be happy. So, just do our best and keep fit
