Always will I seek the seed of triumph in every
adversity
1(There is no better school than adversity. Every defeat, every heartbreak, every loss, contains its own seed, its own lesson on how to improve my
performance next time. Never again will I contribute to my downfall by refusing to face the truth and learn from my past mistakes. Because I know: gems cannot shine without polish, and I cannot perfect myself without hardship.
2(Now I know that there are no times in life when opportunity, the chance to be and do, gathers so richly about my soul as when it has to suffer cruel adversity. Then everything depends on whether I raise my head or lower it in seeking help. Whenever I am struck down, in the future, by any terrible defeat, I will always inquire of myself, after the first pain has passed how I can turn that adversity into good. What a great opportunity that moment might present… to
take the bitter root I am holding and transform it into
a fragrant garden of flowers.
3(Always will I seek the seed of triumph in every
adversity.
Hold Fast to Dreams
1( We all have dreams. We all want to believe deep
down in our souls that we have a special gift, that we can make a difference, that we can touch others in a special way, and that we can make the world a better place.
2(At one time in our lives, we all had a vision for the quality of life that we desire and deserve. Yet, for many of us, those dreams have become so shrouded in the frustrations and routines of daily life that we no longer even make an effort to accomplish them. For far too many, the dream has dissipated and with it, so has the will to shape our destinies. Many have lost that sense of certainty that creates the winner’s edge.
3((What we should do is to restore the dream and to make it real, to get each of us to remember and use the unlimited power that lies sleeping within us all.
Noting can take the place of persistence
1(Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful individuals with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
2(Perseverance does not always mean sticking to the same thing forever. It means giving full concentration
and effort to whatever you are doing, right now! It means doing the tough things first and looking downstream for gratification and rewards. It means being happy in your work, but hungry for more knowledge and progress. It means making more calls, going more miles, pulling more weeds, getting up earlier in the day and always being on the look out for a better way of doing what you’re doing. Perseverance is success through trial and error.
Always will I bathe my days in the sea of
enthusiasm
1(Every memorable act in the history of the world is a triumph of enthusiasm. Nothing great was ever achieved without it.
2(Without enthusiasm I am doomed to a life of mediocrity but with it I can accomplish miracles.
3(Some of us are enthusiastic at times and few even retain their eagerness for a day or week. All that is good but I must and I will form the habit of sustaining my enthusiasm indefinitely, honestly, and sincerely so that the success I enjoy today can be repeated tomorrow and next week and next month.
4(We first must make our habits and then, good or bad, they make us. Enthusiasm, the love for whatever it is I am doing at the moment, works in marvelous ways I need not ever attempt to understand but I do know that it will give additional vitality to my muscles and my mind.
5(Always will I bathe my days in the sea of enthusiasm.
Try more than once
1(Take a look at an apple tree. There might be five

1 Plants in the
Deserts
Some cacti, like the saguaro, grow to tree size, but true trees need more moisture than mostdesert environments can supply, so they are scarce on deserts. Close to streambeds, cottonwoods can sometimes be found. Though these streams are dry most of the year, waterflows there longest and is usually available fairly close to the surface. Elsewhere, trees mustsend taproots deep into the hard baked desert soil to draw on underground water. Perhaps themost widespread family of trees on the world's deserts is the acacia, whose taproots drilldown as far asfeet (7. meters). The mesquite common on North American deserts in bothtree and shrub forms, does not begin to grow above ground until its root system is completelydeveloped, ensuring the plant a supply of moisture. The roots of shrubs and

These services are vital if a desert is tosupport life. Scientists estimate that a desert needs year round plant cover over0 to0percent of its surface. If shrubs are too far apart-separated by a distance greater than fivetimes their height - soil around them is likely to blow away. Without the shelter of establishedshrubs, new seedlings will have difficulty in getting a start.
On the other hand, plants that are too close together may compete for underground protect themselves from this competition some shrubs give off a substance that killsyoung plants that sprout too close to them. In addition to a few varieties of trees and toughshrubs, most deserts have grasses, herbs, and other annual plants. These do not compete formoisture with the longer lived growth. They spring up quickly after rains, when the surface ismoist. Then, for a brief time, the desert can be literally carpeted with color. Almost as quickly asthey appeared, these small plants die away.

2 Plankton
Scattered through the seas of the world are billions of tons of small plants and animals calledplankton. Most of these plants and animals are too small for the human eye to see. They driftabout lazily with the currents, providing a basic food for many larger animals.
Plankton has been described as the equivalent of the grasses that grow on the dry landcontinents, and the comparison is an appropriate one. In potential food value, however, plankton far outweighs that of the land grasses. One scientist has estimated that while grassesof the world produce aboutbillion tons of valuable carbohydrates each year, the sea'splankton generates more than twice as much.

was made until recently to farm plankton aswe farm grasses on marine scientists have at last begun to study this possibility, especially as the sea's resources loom even more important as a means of feeding anexpanding world population.
No one yet has seriously suggested that "planktonburgers" may soon become popular aroundthe world. As a possible farmed supplementary food source, however, plankton is gainingconsiderable interest among marine scientists.
One type of plankton that seems to have great harvest possibilities is a tiny shrimplike creaturecalled krill. Growing to two or three inches long, krill provide the major food for the great bluewhale, the largest animal ever inhabit the Earth. Realizing that this whale may grow to 100feet and weigh 150 tons at maturity, it is not surprising that each one devours more than one
ton of krill daily.

In the seventeenth century theorgan, the clavichord, and the harpsichord became the chief instruments of the keyboardgroup, a supremacy they maintained until the piano supplanted them at the end of theeighteenth century. The clavichord's tone was metallic and never powerful; nevertheless, because of the variety of tone possible to it, many composers found the clavichord asympathetic instrument for intimate chamber harpsichord with its bright, vigorous tone was the favorite instrument for supporting the bass of the small orchestra ofthe period and for concert use, but the character of the tone could not be varied save bymechanical or structural devices.
The piano was perfected in the early eighteenth century by a harpsichord maker in
Italy(thoughmusicologists point out several previous instances of the instrument). This instrument wascalled a piano e forte (soft and loud), to indicate its dynamic versatility; its strings werestruck by a recoiling hammer with a felt-padded head.
Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life:the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of passions, like great winds, have blown me hither and thither,in a wayward course, over a deep ocean of anguish, reaching to the very verge of despair.
I have sought love, first, because it brings ecstasy -ecstasy so great that I would often have sacrificed all the rest of my life for a few hours of this have sought it, next, because it relieves loneliness-that terrible loneliness in which one shivering consciousness looks over the rim of the world into the cold unfathomable lifeless abyss. I have sought it, finally, because in the union of love I have seen,in a mystic miniature, the prefiguring vision of the heaven that saints and poets have is what I sought,

With equal passion I have sought have wished to understand the hearts of have wished to know why the stars I have tried to apprehend the Pythagorean power by which number holds away above the little of this, but not much, I have achieved.
Love and knowledge, so far as they were possible, led upward toward the always pity brought meback to earth. Echoes of cries of pain reverberate in my in famine, victims tortured by oppressors, helpless old people a hated burden to their sons, and the whole world of loneliness, poverty, and pain make a mockery of what human life should long to alleviate the evil, but I cannot, and I too suffer.
This has been my life. I have found it worth living, and would gladly live it again if the chance were offered me.
