Jessica: About three years ago I went and I lived in Madrid for a year and I stayed with a host family, and there was three boys: one was my age,
one was two years younger, and one was, at the time he 9 years old, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I stayed in a city outside of Madrid, it's called Alcola de Hernades, and it's about a 30 minute train ride from Madrid, from downtown Madrid. In, I also went to school Monday to Friday. I went to
a Spanish International language school, and so I went to class with Brazilians, French, German, Turkish, and so that was really good for my Spanish just because I was able to practice without having the ability
to speak English, so my Spanish greatly improved, just from my friends, having to communicate to properly with them. My host family like I said was really wonderful. I would take the little one, Javi, my little brother, out a lot, we would go on what we called our citas, which is dates,
so I would ask him where he wanted to go for our date and he would tell me, you know, like, in Madrid he wanted to see,
one time we went to a wax museum, so he was able to vist the city which he did not have a lot of opportunity to do before that,
so with the help of Javi and his host Mom, I was able to like thoroughly enjoy my
Spanish experience and improve my Spanish as well.

范文五:英语家庭对话 Interaction
Mom: Hello.
Frank: Hi, mom, it’s me. How’s it going?
Mom: We are fine. How are the kids?
Frank: I am just wondering if you want us to bring anything when we come over on Saturday.
Mom: No, we don’t need anything unless you bring some memory bills for your father.
Frank: What are you talking about?
Mom: Not really. I am a little concerned about your dad. He doesn’t seem to remember anything lately.
Frank: Like what?
Mom: well, just yesterday, I asked him to pay a few bills. He wrote the checks and stamped the envelope and took it to the post officer. After he left, I looked down and found the checks was still there. Luckily, he was talking to the neighbor. But if I hadn’t caught him, he would have mailed the bills without the checks.
Frank: It is not such a big deal. He must have other thing on mind.
Mom: But it isn’t just that. When he goes into the kitchen, and turns on the faucet, then he leaves the room and forgets to turn the water off. Frank: He’s been doing that for years.
Mom: But he is no longer young. He might be getting Alzheimer.
Frank: I am not a doctor, but forgetting things doesn ’t mean Alzheimer.
Anything else?
Mom: He never remembers where things are. He dropped me off and went to park the car. When we were ready, he couldn’t remember where was. Frank: If you really worry, you can take him to see a doctor, but I don’t think he needs. Everything you have told me just really sounds dad being dad. Mom: You are probably right, he wants to talk to you. See you, Bye bye. Dad; Hi, Frank. How are you doing?
Frank: Great, dad. How are you?
Dad: Can’t complain. Did you see the basketball last night?
Frank: Great, isn’t it?
Dad: what a finish! We will have to get some tickets to game one of these days real soon.
Frank: sounds like fun. Hey, dad, are you okay?
Dad; sure, why do you ask me ask?
Frank: Mom seems a little concern about you.
Dad: she must have told you about the bills. She is such a worrier. You know, I realize what I’d done the minute I go out to the car. If I hadn’t run into Ernie and started talking to him, I would have come right back in and gotten the checks. I was a little around. But we forgot the car within a couple of minutes.
Frank: It all sounds harmless the way you put in. Why don’t you explain it to mom the way you just told me?
Dad: I did, maybe your mom forgot. See you on Saturday. Be careful driving. Bye.
Frank: Bye.
